DMA ( Direct Memory Access ) accomplishes high-speed data transfer by utilizing memory address buses and peripheral address buses to directly move data from peripherals to memory or vice versa. This enables the CPU to continue executing other tasks for the majority of the time, rather than waiting for data transfers to complete, significantly improving data transfer efficiency and reducing CPU load.
Additionally, DMA also stands for Dynamic Mechanical Analysis, a testing technique that measures the mechanical properties of viscoelastic materials in relation to time, temperature, or frequency. In dynamic mechanical analysis instruments, samples undergo controlled deformation due to periodic (sinusoidal) mechanical stress.
